  3. STUDENT RESEARCH RESOURCES

In this section, there are many excellent links and resources within each page for each category listed below. We just wanted to ensure you were successful in your research. If one resource site isn't providing what you are looking for, move on to another resource. No one resource has everything you'll want to find.
    About Career Research
For researching "careers", keep in mind that your research may take you to some very exciting new areas to consider. The Career Coaching for Students™ guidebook uses assessment results to narrow your research but is still a broad stroke to guide you. Be sure when you are looking at very specific career options that you return to your "careers of choice list" in Step 9 in the guidebook to see if it fits. If you're not sure, review Steps 4-8.
    About School Research
When searching for colleges, universities or trade schools, keep in mind there are no one-site all-inclusive listings that rank schools for the focus area you are interested in finding. You will need to use multiple sources to narrow the list of "best" options for you. For example, looking for a "top" university or college for double majoring in both History and Film Production will require finding a credible list of "best universities for Film" and "best universities for History". These lists, when compared will provide you with a shorter list from which many of the Education Resources sites will provide good comparisons to consider.

  5. LIFE SKILLS FOR STUDENTS™ E-LEARNING MODULES

Life Skills for Students™ is a new section of the guidebook introduced in 2009. Individual success doesn't happen just because you choose a career that creates passion for you. Yes, that is a big part of it. But successful people have developed specific "soft skills". Research gives us the answer to what soft skills are critical for a student to develop. The Career Coaching for Students™ program provides personal development modules on ten soft skills listed here. These are in audio format (downloadable to MP3 player) and in pdf workbook printable format). You must have a personal copy of the guidebook to get access to these modules.

  6. TAB FIVE RESOURCES

Tab Five Resources refers to helpful external resources that fall into the miscellaneous category. Call it miscellaneous or "other stuff". We'll add stuff every so often. If you have the "binder" version of the guidebook, use tabS five through eleven to hold information that you print off the web or receive from colleges. Tip: Tabs Five through Eleven are ideal for holding all of your "top choice" college materials. You can then take the binder with you when visiting campuses and have everything in one organized place.
  7. PRINT EXTRA GUIDEBOOK WORKSHEETS
