About Marcie Swift

Marcie has earned the high regard of professionals throughout New England for not only her sharp diagnostic skills but for her talent in uncovering her client’s strengths in all areas of life. With over 30 years experience as a school psychologist in private practice, her skills are frequently called upon by heads of schools throughout CT and MA. She specializes in interventions that creatively target positive changes in individuals, their families and schools.

Marcie specializes in the adolescents who may feel unsure of themselves and their future, and promotes self-awareness and confidence. She views the college application process as a rite of passage, a time of defining identity, separating from family, and taking charge of and expanding their professional network. All of her clients report increased self-knowledge and self-confidence, making the processes of choice of major, essay writing, and interviewing far more powerful and focused. Most important of all, students not only identify their passions in life, but find the strength and wisdom to meet their true potential, while creating visions of a gratifying and fulfilling life.

Students find Marcie inspiring, warm, funny and a fierce advocate on their behalf. She is able to diplomatically weave positive changes in families through this difficult transition period. Parents typically find themselves far less anxious regarding their offspring as they prepare to leave the family nest.

Marcie has long years of experience in working with students with learning and attentional issues, depression, and anxiety. A former member of the CT Association for the Gifted, she understands the complexities of this population’s needs as well. In addition, she is a former board member of the CT Association of Higher Education, and specializes in working with college age students and young adults who are still struggling to find their path. She has been the Director of The Swift Center for Learning LLC, in W. Suffield CT for over a decade.
